I was contracted to create a poster for a client going by the name of Tom Currie who is based in Wombourne near Wolverhampton. The process I had to take to ensure I got this project was to send a proposal for the design and some samples of my work then the contractor would decide if I was suitable for the role. As you can see from the designs I was picked to do the work and I undertook the task like I would undertake every design task by putting 100% into it.
When I got talking to the client they told me that they wanted a number of posters created for their new home and gave me three ideas of what they wanted. This poster however was based around their favorite film “Star Wars”. They asked if I could create a male and female R2D2 on either side of the poster to show the male version being him and the female being his partner. So from this information I went away and looked into tutorials of how to draw these characters and other Star Wars Posters that other people had made.
The final design I came up with was a grey background with the male Star Wars character in blue on the left hand side and a female pink Star Wars character on the right hand side. The text I used at the top of the poster is the text that is used for the Star Wars theme. Over all I am more than happy with the final design and would like to do something like this again.
The client was really happy with the final design and has given me a really nice reference to tell people what he thought of the poster, which will be available in my paper-based portfolio and on my website. The software I used to create the flyer was Adobe Photoshop.
