I was contracted to create a poster for a client going by the name of Katie Brookes who is based in Wolverhampton. The process I had to take to ensure I got this project was to send a proposal for the design and some samples of my work then the contractor would decide if I was suitable for the role. As you can see from the designs I was picked to do the work and I undertook the task like I would undertake every design task by putting 100% into it.
When I got talking to the client they told me that they wanted a poster created for their new home and gave me a few ideas of what they wanted. This poster itself was based around a DJ group her partner was once part of and wanted to bring that vibe back into their new home. They told me that they wanted a vinyl record to feature somewhere on the poster, the name of the DJ group and to use the colour scheme orange, black and white. So from this information I went away and started creating something that would suit the client and her partner.
The final design I came up with was a orange background, with the DJ group name “Wwonbar” at the top of the page, a selection of white stars down the left hand side of the poster, and finally the vinyl record placed as a main image underneath the text Wwonbar. Over all I am more than happy with the final design and would like to do something like this again.
The client was really happy with the final design and has given me a really nice reference to tell people what he thought of the poster, which will be available in my paper-based portfolio and on my website. The software I used to create the flyer was Adobe Photoshop.
